Board Meets:
Normally on the first Thursday of each month from September to June at 7:00pm in room #1 in the Parish Life Center at Holy Family Catholic Church, 5125 S. Apopka-Vineland Road, Orlando, Florida 32819. 407--876-2211
Objectives and Accomplishments:
Educate and raise awareness of pro-life issues through bulletin announcements, posters and postings on the TV monitors in the Narthex, pro-life Mass intentions, and distribution of pro-life literature
Save babies from abortion through the Spiritual Adoption Program, a 9 month program during which participants spiritually and mentally adopt, name, and pray for an unborn baby in danger of abortion
Provide financial and material support to the JMJ Crisis Pregnancy Center through the Baby Bottle Fundraiser, the Baby Shower/Birthday Party held at the end of the Spiritual Adoption Program, and by assisting the Knights of Columbus with Spaghetti Dinner Fundraisers for JMJ
Educate the parish/community by displaying roadside Pro-life Banners and banners depicting child development in the womb during the 9 month Spiritual Adoption Program
Raise awareness in the parish/community with the White Cross Campaign in which crosses are erected roadside in front of the church in rememberance of the 4000 unborn babies that die daily from abortion in the U.S.
Sponsor the annual national "Life Chain" in Orlando on the first Sunday of October during which participants form a roadside chain along Apopka-Vineland Rd. to pray for an end to abortion while displaying pro-life signs
Sponsor an annual parish Respect Life Conference
Distribute pro-life material and recruit volunteers during Membership Drive Sunday, the Ministry Fair, Roe v Wade Anniversary weekend, Respect Life Conference, JMJ Baby Bottle Fundraiser, JMJ Baby Shower, Spiritual Adoption Sunday, and other ministry activities
Support Holy Family Catholic School 7th grade and PREP with pro-life material
Sidewalk Praying/Counseling outside of Planned Parenthood abortion clinic, 726 S. Tampa Ave, Orlando every Wednesday morning 10:00am -noon
Provide and encourage Legislative communication on Life related issues
Participate in prayer vigils at Planned Parenthood on Roe v Wade anniversary and Stand4Life event in May
Pray daily 9am Rosary for Life at Holy Family's Divine Mercy Perpetual Adoration Chapel
Promote forgiveness and healing through bulletin announcements and links for abortion recovery assistance
Sponsor Pro-Life Billboards in metro Orlando
Ministers of Respect Life:
Have a special role to play in the parish. They contribute in one or more ways. They can serve on the board and help plan pro-life activities, and/or volunteer to support the objectives and planned activities of the board, and/or help support projects with direct financial contributions or fundraising activities.
