Happy Mother’s Day—“The most important person on earth is a mother. She cannot claim the honor of having built Notre Dame Cathedral. She need not. She has built something more magnificent than any cathedral—a dwelling for an immortal soul, the tiny perfection of her baby’s body. The angels have not been blessed with such a grace. They cannot share in God’s creative miracle of bringing new saints to Heaven. Only a human mother can! Mothers are closer to God the Creator than any other human creature. God joins forces with mothers in performing this act of creation. What on God’s earth is more glorious than to be a mother?” Cardinal Joseph Mindszenty

Spiritual Adoption
(Stopping Abortions-One baby at a time)

Do you believe in the power of prayer?  If so, you can save the life of an unborn baby at risk of being aborted by Spiritual Adoption.  Simply begin praying that the life of the baby whom you spiritually and mentally adopt will be saved.  Spiritual Adoption is a personal resolution to pray daily for 9 months for a particular baby, known only by God, in danger of deliberate abortion.  Your intercessory prayers will save your spiritually adopted baby's life.  In this life, you may never know the baby whose life you saved by Spiritual Adoption but hopefully someday in heaven you will recognize him or her and be united in eternal happiness.  Think about it!  You have the power to save two unborn babies at risk of abortion every eighteen months.  How many babies will you save?  For prayer cards, more information, or help to implement a parish or school wide program, contact:

Christ is Counting on You

As part of the Body of Christ, we have a solemn responsibility to promote the culture of life in our environments.  We should all work to increase the awareness of the dignity and sacredness of every human life from conception to a natural death wherever we are as individuals and/or as part of other groups and ministries.  We can begin with prayer.  Prayer will lead us to action.  Perhaps this action will be to witness your pro-life beliefs or to educate others on the facts.  Perhaps you can volunteer at a pregnancy crisis center or financially help to keep one open.  Perhaps you can pray or counsel outside of an abortion clinic or help volunteer with the aged at a nursing home or relieve a caregiver of a person with dementia.  Perhaps you can write letters to the editor of newspapers or legislators concerning life issues.  These are just a few examples.  We are all in this together.  Christ is counting on us.  He is counting on YOU!

Please Help Save Babies
When a fire is reported, the firemen do not sit around the fire house and have a prayer service. They go to where the fire is. The same should be true with abortion. We are called to show up at the places where the killing occurs. Please join us to pray on Wednesdays from 10am to noon in front of the Planned Parenthood abortion facility at 726 S. Tampa Ave., Orlando, FL or email rcorysr@hotmail.com for other times and locations.

Human Trafficking Awareness Campaign
For a brief introduction to this important issue, watch the 7-minute video at www.flacathconf.org/humantrafficking and check out the other resources on this website. Be prepared to report any potential human trafficking situation you may observe by programming the national hotline into your cell phone, 888-373-7888.
Human Trafficking Prayer
Lord of freedom and love, we are saddened to know that more than one million people are trafficked into slavery each year. The effects of contemporary slavery are felt in every country around the world. As sisters and brothers, we are tormented by this reality that will leave devastating repercussions for generations to come. Our hearts grieve for what our minds can barely comprehend, particularly when we hear of women, men, and children who are deceived and transported to unknown places. We recognize this sexual and economic exploitation occurs because of human greed and profit. We are sorrowful and our spirits angry that human dignity is being degraded through deception and threats of force. Help the violators be transformed and enlightened to realize the scope of their unjust actions. Allow them to see the value and dignity of every human person. As a people in solidarity with God’s poor, we must protest this atrocity and work against the demeaning practice of human trafficking. Lord of Life, strengthen those whose hearts have been broken and lives uprooted. Give us the light, grace, and courage to work with you so that we can all participate in the goodness of creation. Fill us with the wisdom and courage to stand in solidarity with the victims so that we may all enjoy the freedom and rights which have their source in your Son and our Lord, Jesus Christ. Prayer by S. Gen Cassani, SSND

SCHEDULED EXECUTION IN FLORIDA - ALL HUMAN LIFE IS SACRED:

The U. S. Catholic Bishops have called all Catholics to participate in a campaign to achieve the abolishment of the death penalty, see: www.usccb.org/deathpenalty/.

Our Bishops have stated that, “At a time when the sanctity of life is threatened in many ways, taking life is not really a solution but may instead effectively undermine respect for life.” This pending execution gives Florida Catholics the opportunity to be a part of the campaign in a very personal way. Our hearts and lives must have special space for the victims and their loved ones as well. But let it be known that “standing with families of victims does not compel us to support the use of the death penalty” (U.S. Bishops). For more information, contact the Office of Advocacy and Justice, 407-246-4819.

NEW ROSARY of the UNBORN CHILD...
Description of New Rosary From Heaven: The Hail Mary beads are light blue teardrops with images of unborn babies inside each one. The Our Father beads resemble droplets of blood in the shape of a cross. The Crucifix is gleaming gold. Promises Accompany Recitation: "I affirm that each Hail Mary prayed from a loving heart will rescue one of these innocent lives from death by abortion...

Standing for the Unborn
On this feast of the Annunciation of Our Lord, we, the leadership of the Jesuits in the United States, fervently renew our opposition to abortion and our support for the unborn. In treating this delicate and controversial topic, we hope to provide our brother Jesuits, colleagues, parishioners and students with the spiritual leadership and ethical guidance they expect from us. As an international ...
